The African Youth Development Foundation (AFRYDEF) is a nonprofit organization established in Nigeria in 1999 to mobilize resources and support sustainable youth and rural development initiatives in Africa.

It is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria as the African Youth Technology Development Foundation with Reg. No: CAC/IT/NO. 98168.

In response to the hardships being suffered by poor families living in the rural areas and in slums across the country, we developed a fundraising campaign on globalgiving.org to enable us raise funds to be able to distribute food items to about 100 families identified in some of the communities in Imo State and in some slums in Abuja.

In 2019, Nigeria surpassed India in terms of the number of people living in abject poverty. Living in the slums, with typically high density houses, with no access to sanitation, no electricity and a lack of savings to self isolate, these people in the slums are at greater risks of contracting and transmitting the Covid-19 disease.

With our food supplies program, enterprise development and job placement services, we are sure that our beneficiaries will be equipped to survive the economic hardships that are looming in the country.

We are therefore calling for your support by making a donation to this campaign on globalgiving at http://goto.gg/46527.

Please, kindly watch the video above for more information about our project and more information about our organization is available at www.inspireyouths.org
